How to become the most well-known mortgage broker in your community (3 steps)


A mortgage friend recently asked me to help him become the most well-known mortgage broker in his community. 


He has been in the business for about 12 years, but moved to a new city in a different state about a year ago.


Since then, he has been trying the traditional method of building his business—calling realtors and going for lunches and to open houses.  


However, being less than impressed with his progress (this guy is really competitive), he asked  what I would do in his situation. 


I said that, by doing three things, I believed I could become the most well-known mortgage broker in his community within two years or less.


I then broke down the three key things I would do:


  1. Connect with the most influential people in the community.

  2. Leverage their local notoriety to build my personal brand.

  3. Use a simple tactic to monetize the new-found attention. 


You are probably thinking, “This sounds great, Scott, but how the heck do I even get the meeting?”
