What a disco ball taught me about marketing

I used to think selling on social media did not work.

Then I noticed something.

I was buying random stuff from my phone. A disco ball that screws into a light socket. A 22 pound mug that made no sense. I did not need either. I still bought them.

That was the lesson.

Social media is not just a place to consume entertaining content.

It is a modern shopping mall. It is where people gather and where business happens.

Once I realized this, I stopped ignoring it and started working on it.

I am not an expert.

Not even close. I borrow expertise where I can.

One of those people is Alex McFadyen. He is very good at building a brand and a business through social media.

This week he is hosting a webinar with two other brilliant experts.

They are breaking down how to actually get business from social media and how to create content that does not feel forced.
