The Life I Used to Think Was Impossible

When I was younger, success was pretty simple.
Build the business.
Hit the goals.
Keep climbing.
I don’t think that definition was wrong.
It was just incomplete.
A few weeks ago, standing on our wedding day with Meredith beside me and my kids there too, I had one of those moments where life slows down.
I realized I wasn’t just grateful for the day.
I was grateful for the life that made the day possible.
For a long time, I measured success by what I built.
Revenue.
Growth.
Progress.
Today, I still care about all of those things.
I still love building businesses, solving problems, and helping people grow.
But now I measure success differently too.
Not just by what the business does.
By the life that business allows me to build.
I don’t think I’m less ambitious.
I’m just more intentional.
Because the business isn’t the destination.
It’s one part of the life I’m trying to build.
So here’s the question:
How do you define success today?
And are you still chasing a version of success that no longer fits the life you want?
