Independence doesn't mean doing it alone
One of the things successful brokers earn over time is independence.
You know your clients.
You know your market.
You know how you want to run your business.
The last thing you need is someone looking over your shoulder telling you how to do your job.
But I think business owners sometimes confuse independence with doing everything alone.
Those are two very different things.
You can have complete ownership over how you run your business and still benefit from having great people around you.
People who can help when a difficult file lands on your desk.
People who have already solved a business problem you are facing.
People who are willing to share what is working. And people who will challenge your thinking when there may be a better way.
That is the balance we have tried to create at BRX.
We want experienced brokers to have the freedom to build the business they want.
But we also want them to know they are part of something bigger.
That is why you will see our top brokers sharing ideas in masterminds, helping each other solve problems, and talking openly about what is working inside their businesses.
I have always found that some of my best ideas come from conversations with other smart people.
Give a good idea to the right group and someone usually finds a way to make it better.
Nobody is telling experienced brokers how to run their business.
We are creating an environment where they do not have to figure out the next stage alone.
Because independence is valuable.
Independence with the right support is even more powerful.

You fell off. Now what?
Here’s something nobody tells you when you’re building a business.
You’re going to fall off your routine.
Everyone does.
You get busy.
You go on vacation.
Your other job demands more of your attention.
The kids are home for the summer.
Or you just have a week where nothing seems to go according to plan.
Then Monday rolls around and you think, “I need to get back on track.”
So you start planning.
A better schedule.
A different prospecting strategy.
A new morning routine.
Maybe this is the week you finally organize your entire CRM.
But I’ve learned something.
You don’t need a perfect restart.
You just need to do the next thing that moves you forward.
Make the call.
Send the follow-up.
Show up to the training.
Have the conversation you’ve been putting off.
Because the brokers who build great businesses are not perfectly consistent.
Life does not work that way.
They just get good at getting back in the game.
I think that is an especially important skill when you are new.
You are going to have good weeks.
You are going to have frustrating weeks.
And you are going to have weeks where you wonder if you are making any progress at all.
Do not confuse a bad week with a bad career.
One of the things we have learned at BRX is that progress usually comes from breaking things down into smaller actions and consistently completing the next one.
You do not need to fix everything at once.
That is also why activities like our Battle Royale focus on simple, consistent action.
Prospect.
Reach out.
Do the work in front of you.
So if you have fallen off, do not spend three days designing the perfect comeback.
Pick the next useful thing.
Then do it.
Get back in the game.
Has your brokerage grown with you?
The brokerage you joined early in your career probably served a very specific purpose.
You needed answers.
You needed support.
You needed somewhere to learn the business and start building your book.
But eventually, you changed.
You became more experienced.
Your production grew.
Maybe you built a team.
You started thinking less like someone trying to establish a career and more like someone building a business.
The question is:
Has your brokerage grown with you?
Because what an experienced broker needs from a brokerage is very different from what they needed when they started.
At this stage, you probably do not need someone telling you how to sell a mortgage.
You need an economic model that makes sense as you grow.
You need to understand where your money goes.
You need the freedom to build your business your way.
And you need people and systems that support what you are building instead of getting in the way of it.
That is something we have thought a lot about at BRX.
For example, we believe experienced brokers should have transparency around their contract and compensation.
Everyone gets the same contract, and our Pro brokers are on a capped commission model that allows them to earn a 100% split once they reach the cap.
We also believe your business should still feel like your business.
That is why we do not force brokers into one technology stack.
We have always believed independent brokers should have the freedom to choose the tools that work best for them.
And ideally, you want other smart people around you who are thinking about the same things.
That is why mastermind conversations matter.
I have found some of my best ideas do not come from formal presentations.
They come from conversations with other brokers who are willing to share what is working and challenge how I am thinking.
A brokerage should not become something you outgrow.
It should help you keep growing.
So if you have changed a lot since you joined your current brokerage, there are two questions worth asking.
Has my brokerage grown with me?
And maybe more importantly:
Will it help me grow into whatever comes next?
If you're not sure about the answer, let's talk about what that next stage could look like at BRX.
